5. Las Vegas, Nevada

If you are a person who loves partying and having a great time late into the night, this is the place to go. Famous for the quote “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, this city most definitely does not lack entertainment with its numerous casinos. Take a walk down the Las Vegas Strip and you will see some of the tallest casinos and hotels you have ever seen. International students can also tour the Secret garden at mirage, Shark reef, and fountains of bellagio which are all popular in the area as well as enjoy the famous stratosphere coaster and gondola rides. While Las Vegas is a wonderful sight from the ground, it is even better in the air. There are companies around the city that will offer a chance to fly around from above the city to give you a chance to enjoy the great views. The last reason to visit here is Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. It is filled with some of the famous Vegas regulars including Elvis and Sinatra, as well as modern superstars like Drake and Bradley Cooper. This would be great for international students to learn a lot about the culture of the Pacific region as well as get to know some of the biggest names in the country’s history.

4. Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

If you are a person who enjoys nature, this place is a must be for you. This 6,000 foot Canyon looks out over the Colorado River and is an astounding view. It is a great hike via foot or bicycle. If you are afraid of heights or have health problems, there is a road that is almost side by side with a canyon so that you can still see the great views by just driving around in your car. There are visitor centers all around the site in which the employees will point you in the right direction if you are confused about what to explore. There are also multiple museums that talk about the history of the area, how the Grand Canyon formed over time and more. If you would like a tour guide that can also be arranged as there are many who will give a great experience. Lastly, if you are a fan of rafting you do not want to miss the experience of rafting on the Colorado River as this is one of the best rivers to do this in the world. This is a chance for international students to get to see one of the most magnificent geographical landscapes the world has to offer.

Love hot weather and great beaches? Here is the city that is a must see for you. There is seemingly a beach off of every street and there are all different kinds so one of them should fit your style. Just like Vegas, Miami has parties going all night. The difference is, the parties continue throughout the day as well. People from Miami love to celebrate and have a good time so this is another good visit for you if you love to party. If you are an aspiring artist, come take a look at the great museums that are located here or even just look at the design of a lot of the buildings. There is no lack of creativity. This can really be noticed if you spend some time on Miami Beach. If you are interested in getting some great Cuban food, this is the city as they have Little Havana which is the center of Cuban Culture in Miami but good Cuban food can be found all around Miami. It doesn’t hurt that Miami University is one of the best schools for international students so maybe it could be a good choice to make it a permanent stay or just nice to have a presence of other international students in the city as you visit.This is a chance for international students to learn about the rich culture of LatinX as well as having many people in the area speak Spanish which is unique.

2. Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles is one of the most famous cities in America with Hollywood being right in the center. It is also one of the most diverse cities in terms of culture. The weather is often beautiful in this area as well. Home to more museums per capita than any city in the world, this city will have international students in disbelief with the variety. Make sure to take a look at Beverly Hills as you will be sure to find some of the best actors/actresses as well as famous athletes. The houses are also predictably beautiful here so it is definitely a must-see. If you are a movie buff, make sure to visit some of the great movie sets including Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures. There are gorgeous beaches up and down the coast. One of them is Venice beach which has all kinds of great shops, restaurants, and street performers. There is also Santa Monica beach which is famous for its pier and Ferris wheel. There are all kinds of great hiking and biking trails as well. LA is also known for having some of the best food in the world that includes burgers, Sushi, Pink’s hot dogs, French Dip sandwich, Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck, chicken parmigiana, and ricotta cheese on toast and more so don’t worry about cooking if you decide to visit here a few days. As you can see, there is a variety of foods that should appeal to anyone from any country. Famously known as the Big Apple, this city has so much history and entertainment that it is a must see. People who have never visited the city often think of Manhattan and rightfully so but there are also four other boroughs. Throughout the boroughs, there is a rich diversity of people that have come from other countries into this great city. In the Bronx, you can visit the New York Botanical Garden, the Bronx Zoo or catch a Yankees game if you like baseball. In Queens, there are so many good ethnic restaurants that it is hard to choose. Brooklyn arguably has the best pizza in the world and just to get there you should travel across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. As for Staten Island, you can take the Staten Island ferry around the city as well as visit the Staten Island Museum. Just like Miami, New York is a must see for future artists. Museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim will blow you away. There are great museums as well like the Museum of Natural History, Louis Armstrong House Museum, and the Sea, Air and Space Museum. In Manhattan, Broadway is a must-see as you can work your way through times square and admire the huge skyscrapers around you. Also, visit Central Park which is right in the middle of Manhattan.If you are a music lover, there is live music every night of the week in famous arenas like MSG, Barclay’s Center, and venues like Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theater. The history is also unmatched in NYC as they played a part in both the Civil and Revolutionary War and was the home of the Wall Street Crash. Unfortunately, it is also home to the attack on the World Trade Center which shook the nation and will be part of our history forever. NYC is a must-see for all international students as it is a blend of all cultures into one city with almost anything that can be imagined in terms of both entertainment , food, and culture. It is globally recognized as the financial center of the world and shows the American dream of opportunity, prosperity, individualism, self determination and freedom. The history of immigration into the city has created areas in the city like Chinatown, little Italy and many more.
