The United States is a country that offers many jobs to individuals who would like a job and can be a great place to start a family. With this said, you have to take the correct legal measures and get the right resources to have a comfortable life.

5. Travel Documents

If you are an international person who is currently living in the United States but also often visit your home country, you must have these. If you leave the United States for more than a year, you have to apply for a re-entry permit. This permit will be good for two years once received. For additional information on this, it is always good to check with your country’s embassy.

4. Have a Loved One Sponsor You

This is a great way to live and work in the United States. If you are married to an American citizen, you should certainly be qualified for this. If you are a child of this type of relationship, if you can get the American parent to sponsor you so that you can stay, that would also work. There are even times when you may be able to sponsor immediate relatives like your parents or siblings. Check your embassy for more information on this.If you are in the U.S. military, you may petition to get citizenship for your family as this often gets approved.

3. Immigrant Lottery Program

This program allows for as many as 50,000 visas to be given out every single year. It is specifically for people who are from countries that have very low rates of immigration into the U.S. It is an opportunity to participate in a drawing for a chance to get an immigration visa. Along with being from a country with low immigration to the U.S., you must have graduated high school or something that is equivalent in your home country to qualify.

2. Legal Documents

Legal documents are almost always necessary when trying to live in the U.S. permanently. These documents include court orders, contracts, important records, and diplomas. To verify these documents, they must be authenticated. The level of ease to get a document authenticated depends on what kind of document it is, the state it was issued and various other factors. For example, getting your diploma authenticated in Texas is harder than in New York because of their state immigration laws. Your state’s document authentication agency should be able to help with any questions or issues.

  1. Green Card

This is essential to have in most cases if you are an international person looking to stay and work permanently in the U.S. This will give you official immigration status as well as give you rights and responsibilities within the country. If you are eligible, you can fill out a form that can be sent to the USCIS. They will review your application, get you an interview and hopefully, you will be granted your green card. If you receive your green card, it is valid for 10 years and afterwards it is renewable.

If you have these resources, you should be fine in the U.S. We wish you the best of luck on your journey and we hope this propelled you to the next level.
